Makers of Oxycontin plead guilty
Oxycontin makers have pleaded guilty to deceiving the public on the addictiveness of their drug.
Surprise, surprise this pain killer has destroyed more families in my county because the doctors wrote prescriptions like it was just strong aspirin. Sit in a doctors office sometime and see how many pharmacy sales people will come in with their briefcases to give doctors free samples to push on their patients. The doctors believe what the pharmaceutical companies tell them about their products. It's a big problem.

It is also a shame that many doctors do NOT monitor the people who are taking these drugs to see if they are taking too much. I have seen far too may doctosr just refill, rewrite scripts with out ever asking, or checking the patient all that throughly.
